Welcome to Horizon Specialty Hospitals Dietetic Internship

The DI program has designed two pathways to allow applicants the freedom to choose the route that fits their needs:

 

Program Pathway #1: The first pathway has an emphasis on nutrition in the Long Term Acute Care and Long Term Care settings. The DI program will place interns at Horizon Specialty Hospitals and other affiliated facilities for clinical and food service rotations. Interns will be required to secure their own community site and preceptor with approval from the DI staff. Once accepted into the program, the DI staff will assist interns with obtaining an affiliation agreement for the community site. Program Pathway #2: The second pathway allows applicants to customize their internship by choosing and securing their own supervised practice sites and preceptors for all rotations. This allows interns the flexibility to create their own unique experience in the location of their choosing. Applicants are required to have a proposed rotation schedule with potential sites and preceptors when applying. Once accepted into the program, the DI staff will assist interns with obtaining affiliation agreements for all approved sites.
